I knew 2024 was going to be inconsistent and a little bananas, so I didn’t set any mileage goals and didn’t have any really big races.
Early in the year, I made plans to crew a 100 mile run for the first time, and said “yes” to hiking the Lower Michigan Triple Crown with some family and friends.

Other than that, I just enjoyed variety.
I took my 5-year-old kayaking for the first time.
I biked the most miles I’ve ever done in a year, in a month, and in a day.
I hiked places I’ve never been to before.
Since I travel for work sometimes and spend a little too much time being lazy, I made it a goal to run at least once on all of my work trips.
The result is that I ran in 7 different states. I’m not sure if that’s a record because I’ve never counted before, but my goal this year is to run in 10 different states. So far I only have California and Michigan. Soon I will have Oregon and Washington.
Obviously states like Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio would be pretty easy to hit. I’m very open to suggestions on any must-see trails or races!
I also have a lot of airline miles, so I also might randomly fly to some wacky state and just run and then come home.
Party on, adventurers!
